Anyone got a saw blade or fifty?
The main accent in carbon li would be carbon fibre. No, not the adhesive kind - we mean already resined sheets of carbon fibre, handily sandwiched between two sheets of thin aluminium. Cutting this stuff requires incredible patience and an act of Parliament.
Ediejo started the cutting task with his jigsaw, getting the rough pieces for the motherboard tray, divider, and PCI plate. It may be one jigsaw, but it's about fifty blades...
With the main shape cut, it was time to go onto the detail work - which happened with the aid of wire cutters, a scroll saw, and a few more blades. Once complete, some filing helped make the carbon fibre fit every last notch of the original aluminium motherboard tray. The aluminium sheeting was removed after each piece was completed, which was a job unto itself.
Next, Ediejo started to plan out his drive bay mask, though this would be continued later on. For now, he just obtained the rough shape and measurements which he would work on later.
In an act of masochistic depravity, Ediejo built a Carbon-Li 240mm radiator grille - out of carbon fibre. We're still really not sure what possessed him to do this aside from an abject hatred of time, saw blades and his finger tips.
With this done, it was time to send the case pieces (minus the carbon fibre parts) off to the shop to get powder coated.
